College Love – Chapter 1

(Every New Chapter, Every Saturday at 1 PM)

During the orientation program, Riya was busy talking to her new classmates, while Rohit was sitting quietly in a corner, observing everyone. Riya noticed Rohit sitting alone and went up to him to strike up a conversation.

“Hi, I’m Riya. What’s your name?” she asked with a warm smile.

Rohit, who was caught off guard, nervously replied, “I’m Rohit.”

“Nice to meet you, Rohit. Are you excited about starting college?” Riya asked, trying to make conversation.

Rohit nodded, still feeling shy, but he found himself enjoying Riya’s company. They spent the rest of the orientation program together, talking and getting to know each other better.

As they left the orientation program, Rohit’s heart started to flutter. He couldn’t believe how comfortable he felt around Riya, and he found himself looking forward to seeing her again.

After the orientation session, Riya decided to share her Instagram ID with Rohit so they could stay in touch outside of college hours.

“Hey, Rohit, do you have Instagram?” asked Riya, smiling at him.

Rohit looked up from his textbook, feeling a little nervous, “Uh, no, I don’t have it.”

“What? How do you even survive without Instagram?” joked Riya, nudging him playfully.

Rohit chuckled, “I don’t know. I guess I just don’t use social media much.”

Riya pulled out her phone, “Here, let me show you how to use it. It’s really easy.”

Riya was patiently explaining the features of Instagram to Rohit, who was listening intently but also stealing glances at her. He couldn’t help but notice how her hair fell perfectly over her shoulders, and how her smile lit up the room.

“Wow, that’s really cool,” Rohit said, trying to focus on the app instead of his feelings for Riya.

“Right? I love Instagram. It’s a great way to connect with people and share your life with others,” Riya replied, scrolling through her feed.

Rohit nodded in agreement, but his mind was preoccupied with thoughts of Riya. He had never felt this way before, and he wasn’t sure how to handle it. He felt his palms getting sweaty and his heart racing as he tried to come up with something to say.

“So, um, what kind of posts do you usually share on Instagram?” he finally managed to ask.

Riya smiled and showed him her profile. “I like to post pictures of my adventures, my friends, and my food. What about you?”

Rohit shrugged, feeling a little embarrassed. “I don’t really post much. I just like to see what my friends are up to.”

Riya nodded, sensing his shyness. “That’s okay. You don’t have to post anything if you don’t want to. Instagram is just for fun, anyway.”

As she spoke, Riya reached out and touched Rohit’s hand, causing him to feel a jolt of electricity run through his body. He quickly pulled his hand away, feeling flustered.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to-” Riya started to say, but Rohit interrupted her.

“No, it’s okay. I just… I’m not used to being touched,” he stammered.

Riya looked at him with concern. “Are you okay? You seem nervous.”

Rohit nodded, feeling embarrassed. “I’m fine. I just… I don’t know. I’m not good at this kind of thing.”

Riya smiled understandingly. “That’s okay. We can take it slow. We don’t have to do anything that makes you uncomfortable.”

As Rohit looked into her eyes, he felt a warmth spread through his chest. He realized that he was falling for Riya, and he didn’t know how to stop it.

After they exchanged Instagram IDs, they started following each other and messaging regularly. They would share funny memes, motivational quotes, and pictures of their daily lives. It was a fun way for them to stay connected even when they weren’t in college.

A few weeks later, they decided to meet outside of college hours. Riya suggested that they go to a local coffee shop that she had heard great things about.

“Hey, Rohit, have you been to that new coffee shop that just opened up?” asked Riya, excitedly.

“No, I haven’t. Is it good?” replied Rohit, feeling a little nervous at the prospect of meeting outside of college.

“It’s amazing. We should totally go check it out,” said Riya, beaming at him.

Rohit agreed, and they set a date and time to meet up. When Rohit saw Riya outside the coffee shop, he was struck by how beautiful she looked. She was wearing a flowy summer dress and had her hair in a messy bun. Rohit felt his heart skip a beat and couldn’t believe his luck.

“Hey, Rohit, how are you?” asked Riya, giving him a warm hug.

“I’m good. How about you?” replied Rohit, trying to keep his cool.

“I’m great. I’m so glad we’re finally hanging out outside of college,” said Riya, grinning at him.

They ordered their drinks and found a cozy corner to sit in. They talked about everything from their favorite TV shows to their future career aspirations. Rohit felt comfortable around Riya and realized that he had a lot in common with her.

As they were leaving the coffee shop, Rohit couldn’t help but feel a little sad that their date was over.

“Thanks for hanging out with me, Riya. I had a great time,” said Rohit, smiling at her.

“Me too, Rohit. We should do this more often,” replied Riya, giving him a friendly pat on the back.

As Rohit walked back to his hostel, he couldn’t stop thinking about Riya. He realized that he had developed feelings for her and didn’t know how to express them. He hoped that they would continue to spend time together and that maybe, just maybe, she felt the same way.
